Accused burglar with airsoft gun arrested
A woman called 911 Wednesday after a stranger allegedly walked into her home uninvited twice — the second time displaying what she thought was a handgun.
Police officers who responded apprehended Frederick W. Jones, 39, and arrested him on suspicion of aggravated burglary.
The female resident of the home on Girard Court said Jones initially walked into the house earlier in the day and she told him to leave.
When he walked in again at 5:45 p.m. he lifted his shirt and showed that he had a weapon in his waistband.
The victim grabbed her 3-year-old son and ran to her mother’s home nearby to call 911.
When police arrived they ordered Jones out of the house and he came out with is hands up, according to a Dayton Police incident report.
They found an airsoft gun hidden under the living room couch and determined that is what he had been armed with.
