In the early 1980’s, a unique renovation was introduced into what we know as airsoft today. The reason behind it was because in Japan in the 80’s it was illegal to own a real firearm. Japanese engineers came up with the design as a replica, so that when they were shown, it was to scare the person who was on the receiving end. Although it was legal it was still very painful because back then they used metal rounds that would have the force to penetrate skin, mainly to just wound the person that was harming others. The main reason for the air riffles was to be used by the military for target practice because it was cheaper for ammunition. After a couple years of production, airsoft have spread throughout the middle-east. Hong-Kong, Japan, and Tokyo are very famous airsoft retailers.
